William " Billy" Stonebarger

William Franklin “Billy” Stonebarger, 45, of Greenleaf, KS, formerly of Highland, died unexpectedly Friday, December 28, 2018, in Washington, KS.

Billy was born in St. Joseph, Missouri, December 31, 1972, the son of Charles and Hannah “Jody” Weiland Stonebarger.  He grew up in Highland where he attended Highland schools, gradating with the class of 1990, soon after he moved to Greenleaf to make his home.    He learned welding as a trade and was working for Titan West, Inc. at Linn, KS for nearly 15 years; and 10 years with the previous owner.

He enjoyed hunting, and fishing.  To say he enjoyed riding his Harley was an understatement!

He married Ida Jorgenson November 22, 1992.  To this union, Crysta and Dalton were born, before Billy and Ida divorced.  On July 3, 2010, he married Melissa Russell.  She survives of the home with her children Joe and Serina.

Survivors include his mother Hannah “Jody” of Hiawatha; sisters Lucinda of Hiawatha, Jessica of St. Joseph; grandson Grayson; with nieces, nephews and numerous cousins.

Billy was preceded in death by his father Charles; brother Jason; both sets of grandparents and a step-daughter Veronica Hogle, many aunts and uncles.

A Gathering to Celebrate Billy’s life is planned to start at 1 p.m. Friday, January 4, to last thru the afternoon, at Greenleaf Club House, Greenleaf, KS.

The family will also meet with friends Sunday afternoon from 4 to 6 at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home, in Highland.
