W. Darlene (Butrick) Rison, 91, of Sabetha, Kansas passed away Sunday, January 6, 2019.
Darlene was born on February 23, 1927 in Brown County near White Cloud, Kansas, the daughter of William Ernest and Minnie (Raney) Butrick. She attended elementary country school, eight years at Hill Top district number 8 in Brown County. She attended high school at White Cloud and Hiawatha.

Darlene was united in marriage to Gerald R. Rison at Zion Lutheran Church in Powhattan, Kansas by Pastor L.W. Polly on April 5, 1946. Four children blessed this union. She was a homemaker and a member of The First Lutheran Church in Sabetha. She was also a member of LWML and was treasurer of Sunday school for a number of years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gerald in 1994; sisters, Marguerite Bradbury and Luella McKenney; brothers, Woodrow, Thomas, Alfred, Gene, and Donald Butrick, and one brother in infancy, William Ernest.

She is survived by her sons, Jerry (Pam) Rison, Roger (Liz) Rison, and Steven (Sandy) Rison; one daughter, Kathy (Mark) Munsterman; five grandsons; and ten great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held Thursday, January 10, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Lutheran Church in Sabetha, Kansas. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. prior to service time at the church. Interment will be made in the Sabetha Cemetery.
