William " Bill" Webster
Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton

William "Bill" Eugene Webster, 85, of rural Whiting, Kansas passed away on Friday, January 4, 2019 at his home.

He was born on November 22, 1933 in Burden, Kansas the son of Harvey Charles and Zetta Burris Webster. Bill served from 1953 to 1956 in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a farmer and worked as a heavy equipment mechanic for May Ransom Sheets and Andrews Asphalt in Topeka, Kansas before retiring. Bill was a 50 year member of the Operating Engineers Union #101, lifetime member of the Holton VFW, DAV and PVA. In 1965 he married  Doris J. O'Neal in Netawaka, Kansas, they later were divorced.

Survivors include four daughters, Candice (Doug) Schmitt of Horton, Kansas, Sandra (Darrell) Martin of Holton, Kansas, Rhonda Toth of Horton, Kansas and Thresa (Russell) Bontrager of Netawaka, Kansas; two sons, Jay (Becky) Cochran of Holton, Kansas and Dan (Beth) Webster of Topeka, Kansas; brother, Tom Webster of Whiting, Kansas; 18 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Rickey Cochran, two brothers, James Webster and John Webster.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas where the family will greet friends on Wednesday evening from 6:30 to 8:00 P.M. A private family burial will be held following the services at the Webster Farm.
