Ann Lee Holmes, age 79, passed away in Hiawatha, Ks, surrounded by her family on January 15th, 2019. Ann was born on July 25th, 1939 in San Rafael, California to Hammond and Betty (Bryant) Sheran.

Ann attended High School in White Cloud, Ks, where she met her husband Flavel Richard “Dick” Nuzum. Ann and Dick were married and had 5 children. She enjoyed spending time and going on outings with her family.

Later in life, Ann married Ralf F. Holmes and they enjoyed a quiet life together in the Bay Area of California until his passing.

Ann was a self-taught talented artist, collected hundreds of dolls, and loved and cared for many animals, especially birds; she took in rescue pets throughout her entire life. Ann had a wonderful, quirky sense of humor that could easily catch a person off guard. Ann was independent and enjoyed being alone but the love for her family was apparent, especially through the stories she would tell.

Ann is survived by her brother, Rodney Sheran of Wichita, KS; four children, Richard (Janice) Nuzum of White Cloud, Ks, Margo Nuzum of Kansas City, Mo, Curtis (Sara) Nuzum of Humble, Tx and Michael (Mary) Nuzum of Hiawatha, Ks; 9 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Hammond Sheran and Betty and Thomas “Fred” Cook; beloved husband, Ralf Holmes; her brother, Douglas Sheran; infant son, Douglas Nuzum; and infant great-grandson, Jerry Douglas Robertson.
