Walter Amos “Bubba” Junod, 67, of Soldier, KS, passed away Sunday, March 3, 2019 at Stormont Vail Hospital. He was born July 13, 1951 in Onaga, KS, the son of Christian T. Junod and Elizabeth H. (Baker) Nolte.

 Bubba graduated from Jackson Heights High School in 1970; his class was the first class to graduate. He worked for Jackson County Road and Bridge for 36 years, retiring in 2006. He umpired for Soldier and Corning softball and baseball for over 41 years. After retirement, Bubba owned and operated the Soldier Grill with his wife Rosemary.

He was a member of Soldier Volunteer Fire Department, Soldier Lions Club and Soldier Jaycee.

 Bubba married Rosemary G. Farley on September 6, 1975 in Soldier. They celebrated over 43 years of marriage.

Survivors include his wife, Rosemary of the home; 3 children, Christian T. Junod of Mayetta, KS, Rhonda S. Senn of Denison, KS and Dana R. Patterson of Horton, KS; a sister, Patricia James of Topeka, KS and 10 grandchildren, Gabe, Draven, Noah, Shilah, Shelby, Chandler, Trenton, Makena, Mariah and Ellie.

 He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Marilyn Junod.

Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 7, 2019 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will follow in the Soldier Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
