 Donald Ernest “Don” Mair, 74, of  Nortonville, died Sunday, May 5, 2019 at his home after a long illness.
 
He was born October 18, 1944 in Nortonville, the son of Howard “Bo” and Georgia “Toots” Binkley Mair. He was a 1962 graduate of Nortonville High School. Don worked many years as a welder for Haul-Mor Truck Bed Company in Valley Falls. He then worked as a driver for Deffenbaugh Industries until his retirement.  He married Carroll Wilcox on February 13, 1976 in Oskaloosa, she survives at the home in Nortonville.
 
He is also survived by one son, Stephen Dennis Hale, II, Nortonville, one daughter, Carol Denise (Gregg) Nieman, Katy, TX, two sisters, Fern Ellen Chiles, Jacksonville, FL, Rita Eleanor Zirkle, Aurora, CO, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, John Howard Miller.
 
Cremation care is planned with a Celebration of Life  at a later date in July, 2019. Inurnment will be at Nortonville Cemetery. Memorials suggested to Jefferson County Friends of Hospice in care of Barnett Family Funeral Home, P.O. Box 602, Oskaloosa, KS, 66066.  www.barnettfamilyfh.com
