Lola Marguerite Newell Zwahl, 88, of Horton, Kansas, passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at the North Pines in Hiawatha, Kansas.

She was born on February 4, 1931 in Manhattan, Kansas the daughter of Raymond and Sibyl Smith Newell. Lola graduated from Onaga High School in 1949. She married Elvin C. Zwahl in Onaga in 1957. Lola was a homemaker and a devoted mother.

Survivors include her husband, Elvin C. Zwahl of the North Pines, Hiawatha, Kansas; a son, Pat Zwahl of Atchison, Kansas; two daughters, Laura Zwahl of Lawrence, Kansas and Susan Deckinger of Hiawatha, Kansas; sister, Rosalee O’Roke of Onaga, Kansas; eleven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and four sisters.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas where the family will greet friends on Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 7:30 P.M.
