Dennis Raymond Bergman, 70, of New London, Iowa, died Saturday, May 11, 2019 after a 3 year battle against cancer. He was born December 6, 1948 to Wilfred and Rosella Bergman of St. Benedict, KS. On May 4, 1968 he married Judy K. Rettele. He served as an Army medic during the Vietnam war from 1968- 1970 where he was wounded and later received a purple heart.

Besides his wife, Dennis is survived by two daughters, Angie Crandall & Cherie Watznauer one son Kevin Bergman nine grandchildren six sisters: Karen Rottinghaus, Elaine Theel, Rosalyn Neary Alice Wietharn, Brenda Haug, & Mary Bergman, and five brothers: Stephen Bergman, Frank Bergman, Gary Bergman, John V. Bergman, & Brian Bergman.

The funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday, May 15, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Mt. Pleasant, IA. Visitation will begin at noon Tuesday, May 14, at the Elliott Chapel, New London, IA with the family receiving friends from 5 - 7 PM. www.elliottfuneralchapel.com
