Clara Louise Long, 74, of Hoyt, KS, passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at her home. She was born November 8, 1944 in Beloit, KS; the daughter of Earl Valentine and Florence Irene (Wenger) Perry.

          Clara graduated from Beloit High School in 1960. She owned and operated Clara’s Café, beginning in 1976 for many years. She was a past member of Order of Eastern Star in Hoyt.

          Clara married Marvin Long on October 30, 1989 in Mayetta, KS. He preceded her in death on August 24, 2017. They celebrated over 28 years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Gloria Earlene Martin.

          Survivors include her sister, Nancy Eileen Duvall of Concordia, KS; 2 step-daughters, Kellie Bryan of Hoyt, KS and Barbara Brown of Topeka, KS; 4 step-grandchildren; 6 step-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews, Cary Duvall, Amy Duvall and Josh Duvall all of Concordia, KS.

          Memorial Service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Private family inurnment will be in the Hoyt Cemetery following the service.
