Betty Joan (Bock) Thomas of Liberty, Nebraska passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at the Pawnee County Hospital. Betty  was born February 22 nd, 1941 to Leslie A & Mabel M (Heupplesheuser) Bock at their home in rural Pawnee County Nebraska. Baptized and later confirmed at the Friedens Evangelical &Reformed church in Bern, Kansas. She attended grade school at rural East Star school and attended high school at Pawnee City High school. 

After high school she attended Lincoln General Hospital school of Nursing from 1958-1961, graduating with an RN diploma degree.

On September 17,1961 she married Darrell E Thomas. To this union two children were born, a son Ricky Lee August 1, 1962 & Kimberly Ann September 18, 1963. 

She practiced her nursing profession all of her life until retiring in a December 2007. 

Betty was proceeded in death by her parents, Leslie & Mabel, her sister Georgia and her husband Darrell.

She is survived by her children Rick Thomas and wife Patty of Beatrice Ne, Kim Pickerel and late husband David Pickerel of Lincoln, NE. grandchildren Daniel & wife Kayla from Marietta , GA, Dillon & wife Jordan Pfingsten of Lincoln, NE , Garrett Pfingsten of Lincoln; NE, Jeremy & Brittany Thomas of Beatrice, Ne.  Taylor & wife Kari Pickerel , Alex & special friend Charissa, Mike & special friend Emily all of Lincoln, Ne. Great  grandchild Emmy Kay Pfingsten (daughter of Daniel & Kayla ) Marietta, Ga. Talon & Leighton Pickerel ( children of Taylor) of Lincoln,Ne. 

Other family & friends as well as all the special nurses in her life. 

Services 11:00 a.m.,Friday, July 26, 2019 at wherry Mortuary, 919 G Street, Pawnee City, Nebraska.  Officiating Asera Care Chaplain Doug Delhay. Visitation on Thursday, July 25, 2019 from Noon-8:00 p.m. with family greeting friends from 6-8 p.m. at Wherry Mortuary, Pawnee City, Nebraska.  Interment at the Pawnee City Cemetery, Pawnee City, Nebraska.
