Thomas Jeffry Reed, 56, of Horton, Kansas passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at the Kansas Medical Center-St. Francis Campus in Topeka, Kansas.

He was born on January 22, 1963 in Overland Park, Kansas the son of James Ross and Lorraine Heuerman  Reed. Tom owned and operated the Park Square Emporium in Paola, Kansas until moving to Horton, Kansas where he owned and operated the 'Electric City' Emporium. He was a member of the First Christian Church where he served as a deacon, Horton Chamber of Commerce, Horton Lions Club, Kansas Sampler Foundation and was a former Horton Police officer. On April 20, 1997 he married Chalen Asher in Paola, Kansas.

Survivors include his wife, Chalen Reed of the home, Horton, Kansas; sister, Barbara (Joe) Hicks of Lawrence, Kansas; brother, Jim (JoAnn) Reed of Olathe, Kansas; mother and father-in-law, Mary and Kenneth Asher of Louisburg, Kansas and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, July 29, 2019 at the First Christian Church in Horton, Kansas. The family will greet friends on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas. Burial will be at the Horton Cemetery.
