Highland, KS...Maxine May Hopp, with family by her side, passed away Sunday, September 15, 2019, at Mosaic Life Care Center in St. Joseph, MO.  She was 89.

Maxine was born at Highland, May 11, 1930, to the late Harold Erling and Iva Springer Beaman. She grew up at Highland where she attended schools.  She worked a number of years as a telephone operator first at Highland, later at Hiawatha. Maxine enjoyed cooking...and worked as a cook for 18 years at the Highland Schools, later for the Highland Care Center.

She married Charles Hopp, at Hiawatha, September 27, 1949.  He survives.

Also surviving is a daughter Debbie Zlab (Dave) of Olathe, a son Rick Hopp (Kathy) of St. Joseph, seven grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren.  Also surviving are two sisters Barb Koelliker and Irene Bramel.

Maxine was also preceded in death by an infant daughter Tony Kay, and a brother Larry Beaman.

Graveside services are planned for 11:00 Thursday, September 19  at the Highland Cemetery.  Terry Carlson will officiate.
