Sondra June Hill, 84, of Soldier, KS, passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at Medicalodge Jackson County. She was born June 5, 1935 in Emmett, KS, the daughter of Floyd D. Hladky, Sr. and Kathryn Juanita (Bailey) Hladky.

Sondra graduated from Soldier High School in 1952; after high school, she attended Clark’s Business School in Topeka. She was a homemaker, a cook for Headstart Preschool and was a “Foster Grandparent” for students in the 1st grade at Holton Elementary.

Sondra was a member of the Soldier Christian Church and helped organize and volunteer for the Soldier Memorial Dinners for many years.

She married Rex Richard Hill on June 6, 1954 in Soldier; they celebrated over 50 years of marriage. Rex preceded her in death March 17, 2005. She was also preceded in death by her son, Paul Michael Hill on October 18, 1995; her daughters, Krystal Rae Hill on May 19, 1960 and Debra Lynn Sinclair on November 16, 2018; and 2 brothers, Gary and Rocky Hladky.

Survivors include a son, Rex Richard Hill II (Cheryl) of Circleville, KS; a daughter, Lorri Ann Trimble (Brad) of Meriden, KS; her great-grandson, Noah Hill, whom she was raising; 6 brothers, Bailey “Boots” Hladky, Floyd “J.R.” Hladky, Jr., Wayne “Corky” Hladky, Joey Hladky, Randy Hladky and Rick Hladky; 13 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 P.M. Friday, September 27, 2019 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will follow in the Holton Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 5:00 – 6:30 P.M.
