Gerald William Ritenour, 82, of Holton, KS, passed away Thursday, December 26, 2019 in Holton. He was born December 25, 1937 in Martinsburg, WV, the son of John William and Mary Jane (Wellen) Ritenour.

Gerald proudly served in the United States Marines and later retired from the United States Air Force in 1975, after 22 years of service. He worked at the V.A. Medical Center in Topeka; retiring after over 20 years. He later worked for 7 years at Prairie Band Casino and Resort (formerly Harrah’s Prairie Band Casino).

He was a member of New Hope Family Church and Holton V.F.W. 1397 both in Holton.

Gerald married Lieu Thi Nyguen in 1971, she preceded him in death in 2002. He married Loyola Faye Holt-Bain on August 15, 2003 in Holton; they celebrated over 16 years of marriage.

Survivors include his wife, Loyola Holt-Ritenour of the home; a daughter, Bonnie L. Ritenour-Nelson (Chandler) of Marquette, KS; step-daughter, LeAnn Holt-Mock of Caney, KS; 2 stepsons, Donald Holt, Jr. (Sharon) of Topeka, KS and Rodney Holt (Anita) of Holton, KS; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

 He was preceded in death by a step-son, Ronald Holt and a sister.       

 Memorial Service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 10, 2020 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Inurnment with Military Honors will follow at the West Lawn Cemetery in Topeka.
