Marsha F Crotinger Engelken age 76, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and educator passed away February 1, 2020 with her loving husband by her side.

Marsha was born June 7, 1943 in Syracuse Kansas to William and June Crotinger. She grew up on a farm in Western Kansas, and attended Greeley Co. Schools she her family then moved to Garden City, KS and she graduated from Garden City High School in 1961.  Marsha then went on to attend college at Kansas State University graduating with a degree in secondary education.  Marsha taught in the Manhattan School District till 1996.  After retiring from Manhattan High, she went on to substitute teach in the USD 380 school district until 2006.

She married Alfred Engelken on March 23, 1996 in Manhattan, KS.  They made their home in Vermillion, KS.

Marsha is survived by her husband Alfred, step sons, Jeremiah Engelken, Zachary Engelken (Jennifer), and step-granddaughters, Jaelynn Engelken, Oakley Melvin and Maggie Melvin. Also her siblings, Mary Kaye Chandler (Jerry), Jim Crotinger (Janette), Rod Crotinger (Jolene) Fred Crotinger (Kathy) and Mavis Houk (Glenn) and many nieces and nephews.

Marsha was an avid K-State fan, loved gardening, reading, traveling, cooking and bird-watching.

To honor Marsha’s wishes there will be a celebration of her life Saturday, February 8, 11:00am at the Centralia Community Center, 106 John Riggins Ave, Centralia, KS.   The family will then complete Marsha’s wishes and scattered her ashes at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Vermillion Public Library.  Contributions should be sent to the Vermillion Public Library, 102 Main St, Vermillion, KS 66544.
