Stephen Wayne Tims, 63, of Circleville, KS, passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at K.U. Medical Center in Kansas City, KS. He was born March 14, 1956 in Ft. Benning, GA, the son of Herman and Marjorie Viola (Edman) Tims.

Stephen graduated from Centralia High School. He proudly served in the United State Navy during the Vietnam War; during his time in the Navy, he earned his Associates Degree. Stephen retired from the United States Navy in 1996. He also worked for many years as a Sargent for the Jackson County Jail.

Stephen married Brenda Kay Bottom on June 28, 1980 in Circleville, KS. They celebrated over 39 years of marriage.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda Tims of the home; a daughter, Dawn Tims of Lincoln, NE; 3 sons, Daniel Tims (fiancé, Megan) of Topeka, KS, Nathan Tims of Circleville, KS and David Tims (Mona) of Soldier, KS; a sister, Janet Scott (John) of Centralia, KS; 2 brothers, Tommy Tims (Dale) of Bogalusa, LA and LeRoy Tims of Seneca, KS and 8 grandchildren, Devin, Sophie, Elora, Alaina, Triniti, Brennan, Rubie and Emilee.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Marjorie Tims; a sister, Betty Scott and a brother, Quentin Tims.

Memorial Service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Family will greet friends from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. until service time.
