Dale W. Wege, 85, of Hoyt, died Friday, March 13, 2020 at the Mid America Rehabilitation Hospital in Overland Park.

He was born on July 15, 1934 at Olsburg, the son of Willie “Bud” and Nellie Parks Wege.  He graduated from Olsburg High School in 1952.

Dale was a member of the Hoyt United Methodist Church and a former member of the Eagles Lodge at Holton.  He loved all types of sports, fishing, gardening and playing cards.

He had worked at Allis Chalmers in Topeka and Dick Blue and Sons Elevator.  He and his wife owned and operated Wege’s Feed Service in Hoyt and Holton for many years.

Dale married Dixie L. Clark on September 2, 1960 at Perry.  She survives, of the home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two daughters, Kathy Woodward and Kimberly Lynch, and a brother, Deane Wege.

Other survivors include three sons, Kevin Wege (Penne), Ozawkie, Kenton Wege (Jeanie), Horton, and Kenneth Wege (Donna), Hoyt; a daughter, Kristy Anderson, Silver Lake; one sister, Nancy Trautwein, Manhattan; twelve grandchildren, Leslie and Michael Lynch, Heidi Ernst, Caleb Wege, Kacie Fitzgerald, Taylor Klein, Lisa and Andrew Wege, Jessica and Andrea Woodward, and Kendon and Jase Wege, five step-grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and seven step-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 17th at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Hoyt.  Burial will follow in the Hoyt Cemetery.  Dale will lie in state Monday at the funeral home where family and friends will meet from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.  Memorials are suggested to the Hoyt United Methodist Church, Holton Community Hospital Foundation, or the Royal Valley High School Baseball Team.  On-line condolences may be made at chapeloaksfuneralhome.com
