Darlene Stirton

Darlene Stirton, 94, of Horton, Kansas, passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2020 at the Mission Village Living Center in Horton, Kansas.

She was born on March 25, 1925 in Verdon, Nebraska, the daughter of Claude and Nina Yeager See. Darlene worked as a manager for Lehman Apple Orchid, sales clerk for the Horton IGA and helped her husband on the family farm. She was a member of the First Christian Church, served as past president of the Horton Hospital Auxiliary. Darlene loved taking care her children and her grandchildren.  On April 30, 1943 she married Charles O. Stirton in Hiawatha, Kansas. He preceded her in death on October 28, 2011. 

Survivors include four sons, Dale (Ruth) Stirton, Bill (Sherry) Stirton, Bob Stirton and Tom (Sarah) Stirton all of Horton, Kansas; two daughters, Kay (Eugene) Kimmi of Everest, Kansas and Tammie Byers of Horton, Kansas; sixteen grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, infant son, Charles Eldon Stirton, two brothers, John See and Julius See, sister, Beth Collins.

Graveside services will be at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, March 19, 2020 at the Brush Creek Cemetery south east of Horton, Kansas.
