Donald Ernest Langston, 87, of Nortonville, KS, passed away Saturday, May 2, 2020 at his home. He was born May 17, 1932 in Topeka, KS, the son of Ernest G. and Pearl J. (Stanley) Langston.

          Donald graduated from Mountainburg High School, Mountainburg, AR in 1949. He proudly served in the United States Air Force.

          He worked as an Electrical Engineer at Santa Fe Railroad for 12 years. He also worked for KTWU am/fm radio and TV Channel 11. He worked in the Media Center for Washburn University, WREN Radio and KNDY.

          Donald married Geraldine Poyzer on May 30, 1987 in Silver Lake, KS. They celebrated over 32 years of marriage.

          Survivors include his wife, Geraldine Langston of the home; 1 son, Ronald Langston (Angie) of Nortonville, KS; 2 daughters, Peggy Smith and Linda Langston; 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

          He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Pearl Langston; a daughter, Diana Wagner and a brother, Gerald Langston.

          Graveside Service with Military Honors will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 6, 2020 at the Valley Falls Cemetery. Donald will lie in state on Tuesday, May 5, 2020 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls and until noon on Wednesday. Memorials may be given to the Jefferson County Friends of Hospice.
