Willa Hart

Willa Nell Hart, 92, of Wamego, KS, formerly of Holton, KS, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2020 at Good Samaritan Society Valley Vista in Wamego. She was born March 5, 1928 in Jewell County, KS, the daughter of Wilbur “Frank” and Iva Viola (Aubushon) Crumley.    

Willa graduated from Esbon High School in 1945 and had attended one year of college at Fort Hays State University. She had lived in the Holton Community since 1970 and previously in Leona, Linn, Riley, Wathena and Effingham, KS.

She was a secretary for BMB for many years and USD 336 Superintendents Office both in Holton.

 Willa married Elmer Hart on August 10, 1947 in Jewell, KS. He preceded her in death on May 20, 1977. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Viola Crumley and a brother, John Crumley.

Survivors include 2 sons, Larry Hart (Judith) of St. Marys, KS and Terry Hart (Jessie) of Kansas City, MO and 4 grandchildren, Tammy Friedl (Patrick) of Olathe, KS, James Hart (Shanda) of Tuscaloosa, AL, Jonathan Hart of Kansas City, MO, and Jeremy Hart (Erica) of Kansas City, MO and a great-granddaughter, Harper Hart. 

Graveside Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 8, 2020 at the Holton Cemetery. Willa will lie in state at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton beginning Wednesday afternoon.
