Charles Glenn King, 88, of Holton, KS, passed away Monday, May 11, 2020 at The Pines in Holton, KS. He was born April 16, 1932 in Mayetta, KS the son of Charles O. and Cliffie Maye (Suttles) King. He graduated from Holton High School in 1950.

He served in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1953-1955. He was released from active duty to the Army Reserves where he served 8 years and was Honorably Discharged as a Corporal.  

Charlie was employed for 37 years at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. in Topeka, KS. He also farmed for many years and especially loved putting up hay.

He was a member of the Holton VFW Memorial Post #1367 and a member of the Oddfellows.

On December 18, 1955 Charles was united in marriage to Ethel Ann Bradley in Holton, KS. They shared over 64 years of marriage.

Charlie is survived by his wife Ethel Ann of the home; 2 daughters, Debra “Deb” Knouft (Mark) of Holton, KS and Carolyn King of Oskaloosa, KS; 1 son, David King (Debbie) of Holton, KS; 2 sisters, Dixie Haag of Holton, KS and Betty Estes (Ronnie) of Holton, KS; 11 grandchildren, Carly (Brett), Lindsay (Ryan), Tara (Lloyd), Dustin (Andrea), Josh (Amy), Ryan (Pam), Nick (Jody), Aaron, Ben (Danielle), Bryson (Heather), Taylor (Eli); 19 great grandchildren.

 He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters, Francis Richards and Mary McAlexander; 2 grandsons, Nathan Wheeler and Lee King.

 A private family memorial service will be held Thursday on the family farm. A drive by memorial will take place on Thursday evening, May 14, 2020 from 5 to 7 p.m. in front of the B & P Propane building at 21786 Q Road, Holton, KS.  It is suggested that those driving out to speak to the family enter from the north and exit to the south for better traffic flow. The family strongly suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the SOLID Christian Church or Heart of Jackson Humane society c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
