Ethelann Stillinger

Ethelann was born on July 20th, 1928 in Denver Colorado, one of 11 children.   Her parents were John Angelo Griebling of Denver Colorado and Frances Leona MacKay Griebling born in Belleville, Kansas.  Ethelann’ s parents moved to Evergreen, Colorado where she attended K-12th grade in July 1937.   She also worked at the local Pharmacy in Evergreen.  After graduation she attended the University of Nebraska, Lincoln Nebraska majoring in Pharmacy.  While attending UNL, she met the love of her life Robert (Bob) Stillinger from Columbus, Nebraska.  They were wed on July 20th, 1950.  After college Ethelann and Bob moved to Columbus, Ne. where Ethelann worked for the local phone company.  They moved to Basset, Ne. where Bob took a position at the local bank and Ethelann gave birth to their daughter Roberta (Bobbie) in 1958.  That same year they had the opportunity to purchase the State Bank of Table Rock from the Guy Bonham family, and both worked together in the bank until her retirement from banking in July 1990.    Ethelann truly enjoyed Table Rock and all the friends they made through the years serving the community and surrounding area.  Ethelann was active in the Table Rock Community Club, Table Rock Development Corporation, Table Rock Village Apartments, Table Rock Senior Citizens Center, and served as an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary for 62 years.   Ethelann was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and St. Anthony’s Alter Society.  She always enjoyed helping with activities at the Steinauer Convent House as well as the Table Rock Senior Center and local activities, parades and festivals of Table Rock Community Club.   Ethelann passed away peacefully in her sleep at the Monarch in Lincoln Nebraska on May 29th.    Ethelann was preceded in death by her parents, John Griebling and Frances Griebling, her husband Robert Stillinger, three brothers, Jack Griebling, George Griebling and Mike Griebling, and a sister Louise Griebling Spanger.   She is survived by her sisters Judy Stockholm of Table Rock, Ne., Lee Johnson of Sacramento, Ca. Sharon Bentley and Husband Ray of Canon City, Co., Brothers Jerry Griebling of Arvada, Co., Bill Griebling, of San Diego, Ca., and Harry Griebling of Table Rock, Ne., and her daughter Bobbie Stillinger-Kunze and son-in-law Rick Kunze of Adams, Ne.;  Grand Daughter Amy Hunzeker and husband Mike and sons Cole and Cooper, of Table Rock, Ne,.; Grand Son John Kostecka and wife Lindsay and daughter Johnna, of Table Rock, Ne.; Grand Son Spencer Kunze and wife Tamara and son Kaden, of Adams, Ne.;  Step Grand Daughter Michelle Phillips and husband Robert and children, Rachel, Maiah, and Corbin, of Omaha, Ne.; Step Grand Daughter Jennifer Rodriguez and husband Andrew, son Cody Westbrook Bakersfield Ca.; and numerous other nieces and nephews.  
Mass of Christian Burial Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 5, 2020 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Steinauer, Nebraska.  Officiating Father Michael Christensen.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with family greeting friends from 2-4 p.m. at Wherry Mortuary, 919 G Street, Pawnee City, Nebraska.  Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Thursday June 4, 2020 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Steinauer, Nebraska.  Interment will be in the Table Rock Cemetery, Table Rock, Nebraska.  Online condolences may be left at www.wherrymortuary.com.
