Norman Green

Norman Leroy Green, 97, of White Cloud, KS, passed away Monday, June 8, 2020 at the Apostolic Christian Home in Sabetha, KS, where he was a resident since 2019. 

Norman was born on May 17, 1923, second child of Roy and Alma (Montgomery) Green. Norman was raised on a farm near White Cloud, KS with an older brother, Harry Green. He attended school in White Cloud, KS where he graduated from in 1941. 

Norman married Mavis Chandler, in this marriage there were three daughters, and one son. Later on he was divorced and then remarried Dorothy Wells in 1961. Norman enjoyed farming and had a passion for improving his own land to become better farms. Norman was a member of the Zion-Methodist Church in Robinson, KS. When Norman was not working he enjoyed playing dominoes and checkers, watching Judd for the Defense, Wizard of Oz, and Ten Commandments. 

Norman was preceded in death by his father, Roy Green in 1958; his mother, Alma Green in 1996; his wife, Dorothy Green in 1994; and his brother, Harry Green in 1997. 

Norman is survived by his children, Sharon Behm(Steve) in Lakewood, CO, Linda Prior in Westminster, CO, Dianna Oswalt in Riverside, AL, and Marvin Green in White Cloud, KS. Norman is also survived by eight grandchildren, Micah Ramey, Tessa Browne, Alan Prior, Austin Prior, Stephanie Stevens, Kristy Wehner, Travis Green, and Megan Green, and 10 great grandchildren. 

Pallbearers are Dennis Leeper, Eddie Wehner, Dreyer (Mate) Coetzee, Jeremy Patton, Derik Holthaus, and Abe Wehner. Honorary Pallbearers are Micah Ramey, Alan Prior, Austin Prior, Dan Collins, Steven Waggoner, Tessa Browne, and Stephanie Stevens.

Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2020 at the Popkess Mortuary Chapel in Sabetha, KS. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at the funeral home. Interment will be made in the Sabetha Cemetery.
