Shirley Ann Mick, 72, of Holton, KS, passed away Thursday, July 16, 2020 at her home with family by her side. She was born August 28, 1947 near Holton, KS, the daughter of Joseph Leo “Joe” and Mary Erma (Eckert) Doyle.

Shirley graduated from Denison Rural High School in 1965. She lived most of her life in the Holton community. Shirley worked in childcare, where she touched the lives of many area children. She was also a Para-Professional in the Holton Elementary schools and worked for over 25 years for the State of Kansas.

She was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church and the Altar Society. She was also a member of V.F.W. Post 1367 Auxiliary and former Lucky Stars 4-H Leader.

 Shirley married Kermit R. Mick on June 4, 1966 at St Dominic Catholic Church in Holton, KS, celebrating over 54 years of marriage.

 Survivors include her husband, Kermit of the home; daughter, Tamara Mick Ivy (Bryan) of Platte City, MO; son, Thomas Mick (Barbara) of Kansas City, MO; sister, Cherrie Kehler (David) of El Dorado, KS; 2 brothers, Lee Doyle (Pam) and Dan Doyle (Pat) both of Holton and 4 grandchildren, Madalyn and Andrew Ivy, Ethan and Owen Mick.

 Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Mary Jo Doyle-Fitch.

 Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Holton. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.  Rosary will be recited 6:30 p.m. Monday evening with visitation to follow at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton.
