John Edwin Pantle, 92, of St. Joseph, MO formerly of Nortonville, KS died on Friday, December 4, 2020 at the Corby Place in St. Joseph, MO.

Graveside services and burial will be held at 2:30 pm on Friday, December 11, 2020 at the Nortonville Cemetery with Rev. Bob Carter officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 2:15 pm at the O’Trimble Chapel, 329 Main St., Nortonville, KS.  Memorial contributions are suggested to the Lumicare Hospice or the Corby Place and may be sent in care of the Becker-Dyer-Stanton & O’Trimble Funeral Home who is handling the arrangements.  Condolences to the family may be left online at www.beckerdyer.com

John was born on December  15, 1927 in Atchison, KS the son of David and Flora (See) Pantle.  He served in the United States Army in Korea.  John worked with his father doing some logging at an early age. He was a heavy equipment operator and worked  for several places installing water shed dams , terraces and doing soil conservation including Sutter Brothers, Effingham, Rathert’s, and for Joe Schletzbaum.  He was a member of the Nortonville Pleasant Grove Christian Church, and enjoyed fishing, repairing and restoring old peddle cars and tractors.

He was married to Shirley M. King on October 4, 1956.  She preceded him in death on January 20, 2018.  Survivors include two sons; Mark (Sarah) Pantle and Faron (Sandra) Pantle, both of Nortonville, KS and a daughter, Bonnie (Darwin) Marks, St. Joseph, MO , a sister, Virginia Rodgers, Citrus Heights, CA, six grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. His parents, wife Shirley, four brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.
