Ronald Dalen Buethe

Ronald Dalen Buethe was born to Erhardt and Leora (Geweke) Buethe on May 15, 1939 in Tecumseh, Nebraska.  He was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.  He attended St. Peter’s Parochial School through the eighth grade and graduated from Elk Creek High School in 1957.   After high school Ron worked at the Campbell Soup Company and drove a rock truck for two years.  Ron then started farming and raising cattle and hogs.  Ron raised cattle nearly all of his life. 

He served his country in the Army National Guard from June 4, 1959 to his honorable discharge on June 3, 1964.

He was united in marriage to Linda Warnke on July 25, 1969 at the First Presbyterian Church in Pawnee City, Nebraska.  To this union three children were born, Brad, Lori and Jeff. 

 Ron was an avid Nebraska football fan and loved to go to cattle sales.  His pride and joy were always his cattle and his family.  Ron was a friend to all and never knew a stranger. 

Ron passed away December 8, 2020 at the Bryan Medical Center West Hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 81 years.

Left to mourn his passing are his wife Linda, sons, Brad Buethe and wife Denise of Elk Creek and Jeff Buethe of Fort Meyers, FL, daughter, Lori Buethe of Tecumseh, grandson, Jax Buethe, brother, Willis Buethe and wife Joyce of Elk Creek, sisters and brothers-in-law, Marilyn Karas of Pawnee City, Bob and Bette Hodson of Des Moines, IA and Sharon Warnke of Winston, MO and many nieces, nephews and a host of friends. 

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Erhardt and Leora, parents-in-law, Clarence and Nellie Warnke and brothers-in-law, Robert Karas and Gary Warnke.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 12, 2020 at the St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, rural Elk Creek, Nebraska with Rev. Bill Cornelius officiating. The service will be livestreamed on the St. Peter’s Lutheran Church Facebook page and also radio broadcast on FM 88.7 for those who prefer to attend from their vehicles. 

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with family greeting friends from 5-7 p.m. Friday, December 11, 2020 at the Wherry Mortuary in Tecumseh, Nebraska.

 Memorials may go to the St. Peter’s Cemetery, Elk Creek Fire Department or Tecumseh American Legion Post #2.

 Inurnment will be in the St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery, rural Elk Creek, Nebraska with military rites by the Tracy-Bates American Legion Post #370 of Elk Creek.
