Marilyn Ann Mannschreck

Marilyn Ann Mannschreck, 91 of Syracuse, formerly of Burr passed away at the Syracuse Good Samaritan Center on Jan. 30, 2021. She was born on Feb. 2, 1929 near Cook, NE to Edwin & Edna (Damme) Floerke. Marilyn grew up attending Osage Church near Cook and later was a member at the Burr United Methodist Church. She graduated from Cook High School in 1946.

On Jan. 30, 1949 Marilyn married Eldon “Lindy” Mannschreck at her parents’ home near Cook. She worked at Campbell Soup in Tecumseh for 29 years, starting in 1963. Marilyn was a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary #360 in Cook. She enjoyed genealogy, scrapbooking, taking pictures, gardening, spending time with her family and friends. Her life was spent in the service of others.  Marilyn’s favorite bible verse was Psalm 46:10 “Be still and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”

Marilyn is survived by her children: Cynthia (Charlie) Doeden of Valley, Eldon Jr. (Marilyn) Mannschreck of Syracuse and Brian (Tonia) Mannschreck of Cook; 11 Grandchildren; 14 Great Grandchildren; Daughter-in-law: LeAnn Mannschreck of Lincoln; Sister-in-law: Ruth Floerke of Lincoln; also numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her Husband: Eldon “Lindy”, Children: Theresa Jo, Wayne Charles, Harlan David, Lowell Dean, Walter Robert and Craig Allen, Parents: Edwin & Edna Floerke, Sister: Maxine Kyles and Brother: Glen Floerke.

Funeral Services will be held on Fri., Feb. 5 at 10 A.M. at the Fusselman-Allen-Harvey Funeral Home in Syracuse. Masks required. The service will be livestreamed on the Fusselman Facebook page. Burial will follow in the Cook Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Thurs., Feb. 4 from 9 A.M. until 9 P.M. at the funeral home in Syracuse.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family’s choice.
