David Kevin Oswalt, 62, of Leavenworth, KS, passed away Monday, March 29, 2021 at Legends Healthcare in Tonganoxie, KS.

David has been cremated. A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm, Sunday, April 11, 2021 at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Al Shirmacher officiating the service. David was born on March 31, 1958, in Topeka, KS to Emmett and Mary Patricia “Tish” (McKee) Oswalt. David worked as a bricklayer, a skill he learned from his father. David attended St. Benedict Catholic School and Maur Hill Prep School. He was a graduate of Atchison High School. He enjoyed scouting, earning his Eagle Scout award and was a Keeper of The Sacred Bundle of The Tribe of Mic-O-Say. David had a great sense of humor and was a great story teller which he loved to share with others. He enjoyed fishing and his nieces and nephews.

He is survived by his daughter Julie Floersh; five brothers Kelly (Beth) Oswalt, St Joseph, MO; Jerry Oswalt, Dearborn, MO; Owen Oswalt and Brian (Amy) Oswalt, both of Atchison, KS; Chris (Shelley) Oswalt, Platte City, MO; four sisters Diane (Mike)Perkins, Atchison, KS; Patty (Jim) Blevins, Highland, KS; Marcia Oswalt, Lansing, KS and Amy (Mark) Peters, Leavenworth, KS. David is preceded by his parents; brother Michael Oswalt and nephew Jerome Oswalt.
