Dale Lloyd Clements, 91, of Holton, KS, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at Midland Hospice with family by his side. He was born August 28, 1929 in Havensville, KS, the son of Ralph “Ivan” and Florence Nell (Nicholas) Clements.

Dale graduated from Havensville High School in 1947. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1951 – 1953, during the Korean Conflict. Dale worked for Goodyear Tire Company in Topeka for over 28 years; retiring in 1992. He also worked for various road construction companies and was a farmer.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Holton and served on many committees; he also mowed and cared for the lawn at the church for 20 years. He was a member of Holton Cemetery Board for many years and Holton V.F.W. Post 1367. He served twice as Commander and countless hours for Holton American Legion Post 44, earning his life-time membership.

Dale married Joy Dean Hodges on March 22, 1957 in Cassoday, KS. They celebrated over 64 years of marriage.

Survivors include his wife, Joy; 2 sons, Vernon Clements (Caryn) of Overland Park, KS and Chris Clements of Manhattan, KS; 2 daughters, Ereline Clements of Kansas City, MO and Linda Clements of Topeka, KS; sister, Phyllis Clements of Denver, CO and 6 grandchildren, Luke, Joe, Matt, Jordan (wife, Jielyna), Samantha and Jackson.

Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 17, 2021 at the First United Methodist Church in Holton. Burial with Military Honors conducted by Holton V.F.W. Post 1367, Holton American Legion Post 44 and Kansas Army National Guard will follow at the Holton Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 2:00 – 3:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton.
