Rosemary Kennedy, 99, of Frankfort, KS, died August 21, 2021, at the Eastridge Nursing Home in Centralia, KS.

Visitation will be Friday, August 27, from noon to 8 p.m. at Padden Funeral Chapel in Frankfort.  The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m.

A rosary service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 28 at Annunciation Catholic Church in Frankfort.  A funeral service will follow at 10:30 a.m.

Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery near Frankfort.

Rosemary was born October 3, 1921, at Willowdale, KS, daughter of Fred and Louise (Schulte) Hageman.

She worked at Beechcraft in Wichita helping build airplanes where she met her husband, Alvin.  On April 28, 1943, she married Alvin Frank Boeckman at Willowdale.  To this union five children were born.  They lived in San Pedro, CA, while Alvin was in the U.S. Army.  There she sold war bonds.  After his discharge they returned and farmed in the Corning, KS, community for over 45 years before retiring to Frankfort.

She loved her vegetable garden and flowers.  Rosemary served as president of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church Altar Society in Corning.  She was known for her cooking, baking and her seamstress skills.

Alvin preceded her in death on September 8, 1984.

On September 14, 1985, she married James “Jake” Kennedy.  He preceded her in death on January 3, 2001.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; brother, Wilfred Hageman; sisters, Alice Demuth, Leora Adelhart and Louise Hageman; son-in-law, Brete DeBord; step son-in-law, Gerry Kennedy; and 3 great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Alvin J. (Susan) Boeckman, Mokena, IL, Mary Kay (Jim Herken) Nocktonick, Easton, KS, Louis (Margie) Boeckman, Corning, KS, Karen (Randy) Rahberg, Topeka, KS, and Joan DeBord, Shawnee, KS; brother, Richard (Virginia) Hageman, Willowdale, KS; sister, Phyllis Lopez, Kansas City, MO; sister-in-law, Delores Boeckman; brothers-in-law, Francis Henry and Richard Schmitz; 17 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren; step daughter, Noreen Hess; step daughter-in-law, Angela Kennedy; and 7 step grandchildren.

A memorial fund has been established to Annunciation Catholic Church in Frankfort or St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Corning.  Contributions may be sent in care of Padden Funeral Chapel.
