Hazel Belle Meerpohl, 100, of Holton, Kansas formerly of Horton, Kansas, passed away on Sunday, August 29, 2021 at the Pines in Holton, Kansas.

She was born on February 3, 1921 in Tyro, Kansas the daughter of Charles and DeLilah Davidson Wheeler. She was a homemaker and enjoyed volunteering her time with area organizations. She was a member of the Horton United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women's fellowship and the National Association of retired Federal Employers. On January 28, 1949 she married John Meerpohl in Horton, Kansas. He preceded her in death on April 16, 1986.

Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Meerpohl of Holton, Kansas; two sons, Steven (Cindy) Meerpohl and Michael Meerpohl also of Holton, Kansas; five grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, Mary McLenon, Ruth Russell, May Smith and Mildred Lockwood, three brothers, Ernest Wheeler, Henry Wheeler and Walter "Pete" Wheeler.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas. Burial will follow at the Horton Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday and Saturday at the mortuary, due to covid there will not be a scheduled family visitation.
