Barry B. Lee, 72, of Pawnee City, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 24, 2021 in Columbus, Nebraska.  He was born on November 11, 1948 to Goodson and Betty (Bennett) Lee in Columbus, Nebraska.  Barry grew up in Columbus and later moved to Bellevue and graduated from Bellevue East High School with the class of 1967. 

He married the love of his life Karen Kerr.  To this union two daughters were born Michelle and Tracy.  They lived in Perry, Iowa and he worked for the Old Milwaukee Railroad.  Karen battled many illnesses and he took care of her, she was the center of his world.  Karen passed away in 1987.  

Barry devoted the rest of his life to his daughters and was the best dad and eventually the best grandpa. He retired early and enjoyed his life as simply as possible in Pawnee City.  He loved to golf, camp, fish, travel, Nebraska Football and to sit with close friends by the campfire in the great outdoors. 

Barry enjoyed his family and the small things in life while waiting to reunite with Karen. They are together at last.

He was preceded in life by his father Goodson and wife Karen.

He is survived by his daughters, Michelle (Tom) Van Soelen and Tracy (Ed) Fletcher, mother, Betty Bicking, grandchildren, Kailyn, Maisy, Matthew, Audrey and Olivia, brothers, Jim (Sharon),  Ron and Lee (Sandy), numerous, nieces and nephews and many good friends.                   

A Celebration of Life for Barry will be held on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. at the Fairview Golf Course Club House, 1700 D Street, Pawnee City, Nebraska. Dress casual and wear your Husker Red.  Come and share memories of Barry with his family. Memorials in lieu of flowers to family for a later designation.
