Gary B. Miller, Sr., 73, of Everest, Kansas, passed away on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at the Maple Heights Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Hiawatha, Kansas.

He was born on September 26, 1948 in Horton, Kansas the son of Robert and Nancy Buchanan Miller. After high school Gary went on to graduate from Highland Community College and from Emporia State University. He worked for the Coop in the Ag Sales Department, farmed and raised cattle until he retired.

Gary was an avid 4-H enthusiast, Eagle Scout, volunteer with the Everest Fire Department, active with the Everest Saddle Club and loved his Nascar racing, throwing darts, his chocolate milk and eating peanut M&M’s.

He is survived by three daughters, Tina Nigh of Horton, Kansas, Lisa (Mark) Compton of Hiawatha, Kansas and Laura (Chance) Cox of Topeka, Kansas; three sons, Kenny (Kalynn) Miller of Sabetha, Kansas, Gary (Jamiee) Miller Jr. of Horton, Kansas and William (Jinnine) Miller of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; sister, Nancy “Gail” Miller of Everest, Kansas; eighteen grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Bruce Miller and two grandchildren, Kobi and Kori.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, January 10, 2022 at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas with burial to follow at the Miller Cemetery. The family will greet friends on Sunday, evening from 5:00 to 6:30 P.M. at the mortuary. Memorials may be made to the Everest 4-Leaf Clovers 4-H Club and may be sent in care of the mortuary.
