Wayne E. Luginbill
Verdon, NE


Wayne E. Luginbill, 80, of Verdon, NE, passed away August 24, 2012 at Tecumseh, NE. He was born October 24, 1931 at Omaha, NE to the late Peter and Mary (Willey) Luginbill.
Wayne served in the U. S. Army
On January 10, 1955 he married Ruth Prather at Falls City.
Wayne was raised in Richardson County and when married the couple established their home in Salem. He worked in the oil fields and delivered fuel. In 1974 they moved to Lincoln and taught auto mechanics at the State Penitentiary and then was a mechanic at Max’s Service Station, he also raced cars. He retired in 1991 and moved to Falls City and to Verdon, in 1997 and had lived there since. He was a member of Verdon Christian Church, Disabled American Veterans of Falls City.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Ruth of Verdon, son, Larry of Lincoln, daughters, Linda Luginbill-Conrad of Verdon, Brenda Luginbill-Hampton of Beatrice, NE, brother, Francis of Falls City, nine grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, John Carter, Lloyd and Fred Blevins, Kenneth and Charles Luginbill, sisters, Daisy Dunn, Roberta McCloud and twins in infancy and a daughter, Sharon.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Good News Assembly of God Church with Pastor Daniel Farley officiating. Interment will be in Sabetha Cemetery at Sabetha, KS. Military graveside honors by Falls City Ceremonial Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 7-8:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
