Philip Gosling
Goff , KS

 Philip Harry Gosling, 71, of Goff, KS went to be with the Lord October 10, 2012 at the Sabetha Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born July 25, 1941 in Kalkaska, MI the son of Harry Philip and Phyllis H. (Hendricks) Gosling.

Phil graduated from Kalkaska High School in 1959. He served in the United States Air Force from 1964 – 1968 during the Vietnam War. He later graduated from Washburn University with a Bachelors Degree in 1971 and in 1972 earned his Master’s Degree in Economics from Kansas State University.

Phil worked as head teller at Victory State Bank and as a real estate loan officer at Home State Bank both in Kansas City, KS. He moved to Goff in May of 1979 and worked at First National Bank of Goff and First State Bank of Goff as president for 29 years.  He was a member of the Goff United Methodist Church, Goff Lions Club, Goff American Legion Post #58 and Pride of Goff.

He married Nancy Lee Sourk on August 2, 1970 at the Goff United Methodist Church. She survives. Other survivors include his sons, Andrew P. Gosling of Chicago, IL and Ryan C. Gosling and his wife, Kristen, of Alton, IL; a sister, Susan Horrom of Rudyard, MI; 4 brothers, Arthur Gosling and his wife, Betty, of Cedar, MI, Burton Gosling and his wife, Judi, of Spokane, WA, Dr. Charles Gosling and his wife, Barbara, of Grayling, MI, Fred Gosling and his wife, Kathy, of Mayfield, MI and many loving in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday October 15th at Goff United Methodist Church.  Burial with military honors will be in Fairview Cemetery north of Goff. The family will greet friends Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton.  Memorials are suggested to the Goff United Methodist Church or Nemaha County Hospice c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O.
