1: Lancaster vacation bible school
The Lancaster Community vacation bible school will be held on Monday, June 11th thru Friday, June 15th from 1:00 to 3:30PM at Saint John’s Lutheran and United Methodist churches in Lancaster. The bible school is for children ages 3 thru 8th grade. For more info call 874-4061.
2: Atchison Summer Pioneer Club
The club will be meeting Wednesday mornings, June 13, 20, July 11, and 18 at the Atchison County Historical Society. Students 4th-7th grade are invited to connect to the history and heritage of their community. For more info or to sign up, contact the Museum at 367-6238.
3: Horton cooking class
The Glacial Hills Food Center in Horton will hold a “Five Start Rustic” foods class on Wednesday, June 13th at 6:30 PM. Explore dishes from Italy, Egypt, India and the Midwest as well as cooking techniques for maximum flavor. Make your reservations now by calling 945-6875.
4: Nemaha County Relay for Life meeting
The Nemaha County Relay for Life will hold a “Hunting for Hope” challenge meeting on Wednesday, June 13th from 5:00 to 7:00PM for team captains at the “D Lazy K Bunkhouse”. Everyone will have a chance to win a “Nook” tablet. For info call 336-3988.
5: Atchison Red Cross babysitting course
The American Red Cross babysitting training course will be held at the Atchison Red Cross Office located at 504 ½ Kansas Avenue of the Midland Empire Chapter on Wednesday, June 13th from 9:00AM to 3:30PM. Please pre-register by calling 816-232-8437 or visit www.redcross.org/babysitting.
6: Bern Cafe Romeo Riders
The “Romeo Riders” Retired Old Motorcyclists who eat out will have lunch at the Bern Cafe on Wednesday, June 13th beginning at 10:00AM. Anyone who would like to come and look at their mix of types and styles of motorcycles or want to meet with the motorcyclists and visit are welcome.
