1: Lancaster Vacation bible school
The Lancaster Community vacation bible school will be held on Monday, June 11th thru Friday, June 15th from 1:00 to 3:30PM at Saint John’s Lutheran and United Methodist churches in Lancaster. The bible school is for children ages 3 thru 8th grade. For more info call 874-4061.
2: Everest Library Reading room
The Barnes Reading Room in the Everest Public Library will be open for summer hours on Monday’s from 12:00 noon till 6:00PM. On Tuesday’s through Friday’s the reading room will be open from 9:00AM till noon. The reading room is closed on the weekend. For more information call 548-7733.
3: Hiawatha Ice Cream Social
The Brown County Historical Society will sponsor an Ice Cream Social on Friday, June 15th at 5:30PM at the Ag Museum located at 301 East Iowa Street in the Carwell Building in Hiawatha. Ice Cream will be served for a free will donation. Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy ice cream.
4: Nemaha County school supply donations
NEK-CAP, Nemaha County Outreach Office in Seneca at 209 North 8th Street in the lower level are now accepting donations for school supplies during the months of June and July. Many items are needed for the 2012-2013 school year. For more info call Gayle at 336-2927.
5: Brown County School Supply donations
The Brown County NEK-CAP office in Hiawatha is accepting school supply donations during June and July for the upcoming 2012-2013 school year. Supplies and monetary donations are welcome. Drop off donations at the office located at 1260 220th Street in Hiawatha. Thanks for you support!
6: Horton First Baptist Church
Garage Sale in the Activity Center, 400 East 16th Street, Friday 4 to 7 pm, and Saturday 9 am to noon. All proceeds go to the building fund.
8: Humboldt Truck and Tractor Pull
13th Annual Truck and Tractor Pull at 7:30 PM Gates open at 6 PM at Humboldt Airport Road. Admission is $10.00 for adults, 12 and under $5.00. 5 and under Free. For more information call F. Rist at 402-245-7740 or 402-862-5018
9: St. Benedict's Abbey Art Gallery
A special exhibit entitled, "Celebration of Flight: Women in Aviation", featuring paintings and drawings by Judi Geer Kellas, will be on display today through July 21st at the gallery. The gallery is located at 1020 North 2nd St. in Atchison, and is open from 3 to 5 p.m.
