1: BC: Viewing of the Transit of Venus
The Benedictine College Physics and Astronomy Department will be hosting a viewing of the transit of Venus, which occurs today. During this event, Venus will pass in front of the sun, causing it to appear as a dark spot on the sun's face. Special equipment is needed to safely view the transit, and there will be a telescope with a solar filter set up behind Westerman Hall (on the side facing the softball field) from 5 p.m. until at least 7:30 p.m. The viewing is free and open to the public.
2: Seneca Library Story Reading
The Seneca Free Library will have a children’s book reading on Tuesday, June 5th at 10:30AM at the library located on Main Street in Seneca. Cynthia Zeisman will read “Once Upon a Dream”. Children are invited to come dressed at their favorite prince, princess or Disney character.
3: Horton Library family night
The Horton Public Library is holding a family night on Tuesday, June 5th at 6:30PM. As part of their Circus of Dreams Summer Reading Program, Cynthia Ziesman, a professional entertainer will be at the library to perform her “Disney Dreams” show. Refreshments will be served.
