3: Horton: St. Ann's Church Golf Scramble
St. Ann's 2nd Annual Golf Tournament scramble will be today at the Lakeview Country Club in Horton. It's a 4-person scramble with registration starting at 7:30 a.m. and a shotgun start at 8:30. Cost is $40 per player or $160 per team. Carts are available for $28 per cart. Lunch will be provided. Call Lisa at 913-370-0091 to pre-register.
4: Sabetha city garage sales
The Sabetha City wide garage sales will be held on Friday, June 8th and Saturday, June 9th. There are about 50 sales locations around town. Get maps at businesses on old South Highway 75. For information call 284-3520 or visit www.sabethachamber.com. Don’t miss this semi-annual event!!
5: Effingham city garage sales
The Effingham city wide garage sales will be held on Saturday, June 9th from 8:00AM till 2:00PM. There is no sign-up to hold your garage sale and there is no fee for advertising. Just put a garage sale sign in your front yard to participate in the Effingham City wide garage sales on Saturday, June 9th.
6: Wathena United Methodist Women 5K run
The Wathena United Methodist Women will sponsor a 5K run/walk on Saturday, June 9th The entry fee is $15 for advance registration or $20 the day of the race. Call 989-3604 or 985-2188 for registration information. Proceeds will go to the local fire and rescue team.
7: Dubois Nebraska Spring Bash party
Abate of Nebraska District 11 will hold their 28th annual spring bash on Friday, June 8th, Saturday, the 9th and Sunday, the 10th at the Riverside campground 1 ½ miles east of Dubois Nebraska. Live music by “Southern Reign. For more info call Jimmy at 402-859-4737.
8: Effingham library book & bake sale
The Effingham Community Library will hold a book and bake sale at Effingham Blue Building on Saturday, June 9th starting at 8:00AM. The Library will also rent tables at $10.00 each to those who want to participate in the annual city wide yard sale. Contact the libarary at 833-5881.
9: Golf Tournament - Falls City
Edwin S. Towle III Memorial Golf Tournament – June 9th starting at 9:00 a.m. at the Falls City Golf Club. 3 person scramble (men, women, mixed), 18-hole golf tournament. Cost is $50 per person which includes green fees, mulligan & lunch. There are a limited number of teams, so sign up early! Proceeds go to various charities.
10: Holt County Cancer Fund Garage Sale
Proceeds from the sale go to the Holt County (Missouri) Cancer Fund, Inc. This fund helps cancer patients in Holt County with transportation expenses when they are going for treatment. Currently the funding is $300. The garage sale in in conjunction with Oregon, MO's citywide garage sale event. Holt County Cancer Fund's sale is located at 200 S. Barbour St. across the street from the South Holt School.
11: Pawnee City School Reunion
A Country School reunion will be held at the Pawnee Nebraska City Historical Museum on Saturday, June 9th. Registration will begin at 11:00AM with a potluck dinner at noon. There will be a program after the meal. The museum is located at 529 P Street. For info call 402-852-6993.
12: Steinauer Nebraska Garage Sale
There will be a garage sale at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Steinauer Nebraska on Saturday, June 9th from 8:00AM till 1:00PM. There will be furniture, toys, tools, dishes, trikes, bedding, towels and many misc. items at the Knights of Columbus garage sale in Steinauer on June 9th.
13: Netawaka Street Fair
The 2nd Annual Netawaka Street Fair will be held on Saturday, June 9th. There will be a 5K run/walk starting at 8:30AM. There will be rides and games from 10:00AM till 2:00PM and lots of activities for kids. A 3 on 3 adult basketball tournament will begin at 10:00AM in the city park.
14: Pawnee City Classic 5K & 1-Mile Run
The 28th annual Pawnee City Classic 5-K Road Race and 1-Mile Fun Run, beginning at 8:00 a.m. Race starts and ends at SchillingBridge Winery and Microbrewery. Entry fee, after June 2nd, is $20 for the 1-mile Fun Run and $25 for the 5-K. Proceeds benefit the Pawnee County Medical Foundation. 15: Troy Pickers Paradise
The S.L.K. Pickers Paradise will be held in Troy at the corner of “Last Chance” and “Lucust” Streets on Saturday, June 8th from 8:00AM till 5:00PM and on Sunday, June 9th from 8:00 till 1:00. Proceeds go to Doniphan County Library renovations and the S.L.K. scholarship fund.
16: Potawatomi United Methodist Church sale
The Potawatomi United Methodist church will hold a garage a bake sale at 14413 “O” Road Southwest of Mayetta on Saturday, June 9th from 8:30AM till 1:30PM. They have an air purifier, pet carrier, books, and many more items. Lunch will be available and there will also be a silent auction
17: Bendena - Denton garage sales
The Bendena – Denton garage sales will be held on Saturday, June 9th starting at 8:00AM. They will serve biscuits and gravy in Bendina, and chili dogs benefiting the Bendena Park. There will be lots of kids and adult clothing, household items, toys, power tools, antiques, and furniture.
