KNZA, INC is expanding our local news department and has an immediate opening. Our privately and locally owned group consists of a five-station cluster that covers more than 50 communities in nearly 15 local counties.  Besides our five FM radio signals, our regional information website www.mscnews.net produces about ten local stories every day and averages more than 1.2 million page visits each month. We have studio offices in Falls City, Nebraska as well as Northeast Kansas locations in Seneca, Holton, Atchison, and our main studio in Hiawatha.

This is an exciting and important time to be a news journalist.  If you are a self-motivated person of integrity with a passion and energy for leading daily news coverage, then we want to talk with you!  The ideal candidate will have news broadcast experience and a multi-task mindset to build relationships and gather and report local news while researching, writing, and producing stories that include a perfect combination of calmness, creativity, and consistency!

General Job Duties
1) Prepare and deliver scheduled newscasts and news stories on a variety of issues
2) Conduct interviews and produce news stories for hourly and daily newscasts
3) Attend meetings and prepare news content, including images, audio files, and text, for use on-air as well as station website and social media
4) Other duties as assigned. Some evening and weekend work may be necessary
