Nortonville Man Booked On Involuntary Manslaughter
03/23/2012

A 32 year old Nortonville man is out on bond after being booked Thursday afternoon on two counts of involuntary manslaughter while under the influence of alcohol as a result of a double fatal head-on accident nearly a year ago six miles north of Oskaloosa.

Brian Keefe posted the bond three and a half hours after being booked into the Jefferson County Jail.

He was given the level four felony charges and an additional count of misdemeanor DUI for allegedly being under the influence of alcohol or drugs during a two vehicle accident that claimed the lives of 38 year old Shawn Fraker of Winchester and 27 year old Daniel Walker of Oskaloosa on March 29, 2011.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2005 Kia Sedona driven by Keefe went left to center on Hickory Point Road and hit a 2002 Acura, driven by Walker, head on.

Keefe was severely injured in the accident.

Keefe is free on 10 thousand dollars bond.
