A 35 year old Atchison man has been deemed incompetent and will not stand trial on multiple charges.
Gabriel Walls will be sent to Larned State Hospital once an opening becomes available.
He was brought up for evaluation in January after incidents which the Atchison County Jail Captain reported to the courts that he couldn’t make his next appearance on felony charges of burglary, theft and conspiracy to commit theft, as well as misdemeanor theft and possession of drug paraphernalia due to “psychotic issues.”
He was arrested by Atchison police December 23rd for allegedly breaking into his mother’s home on December 18th and taking a generator and lawnmower.
He was given new felony theft and conspiracy charges on December 30th for allegedly taking a generator from a residence in Potter.
Another person that admitted to some of those charges was 20 year old Lynn Ball.
She pled guilty and was sentenced to probation in the case.
