Atchison County Commissioners are looking to take the next step in configuring their budget cycle.
County Commissioner Jeff Schuele says they are aiming to establish a budget timeline next week.

Commissioner also conducted their 10th interview for the emergency preparedness and noxious weed director position.
Schuele says they hope to have someone hired by the end of next week.
Commissioners also met with Hays Company and unanimously agreed to have them be insurance consultants to analyze employee benefits.
They also set April 16th for a follow-up visit from Heinicke, LLC, to discuss solid waste fees before the next joint city-county meeting on the subject March 30th.
