Falls City Economic Development and Growth Enterprise Executive Director Beckie Cromer presented the organizations quarterly report during Monday nights Falls City Council meeting.
Cromer noted that Falls City is currently working with Omaha Public Power District to be able to have more electrical power transmitted to Falls City in the future. ( play audio :16 seconds )
Cromer said there is not a shortage of power and said she wanted to make sure all of the industries located in Falls City are aware there is plenty of electrical power to meet their needs. ( play audio :13 seconds )

It was also reported that the owners of the Burbank Apartments are attempting to secure monies to make upgrades at the Falls City facility. ( play audio :14 seconds )
On a downside, Cromer provided a brief report on the closing of the CRT, telemarketing firm in Falls City. ( play audio :18 seconds )
After her EDGE report was completed, Cromer also asked the City to partner with EDGE in funding the next comprehensive plan for the community. ( play audio :36 seconds )
As part of the memorandum of understanding between the City and EDGE, the organization is responsible for updating the comprehensive plan when it is time to do so.
Cromer said EDGE wants to use a different firm than the company that did the work a decade ago. ( play audio :31 seconds )
