Of the three area schools that competed in the Republic County golf meet yesterday it was Valley Heights who had the best performance of the three. The Mustangs of Valley Heights had their four-man team notch a top three finish as they finished with a 376 combined score good enough for third place in the four-man standings for the meet. That would be only top three finish for the three area schools of Valley Heights, Linn and Washington County competed in the the golf meet.
The Mustangs would finish eleventh out of 12 in the two-man standings, seventh in the six-man standings out of nine teams and eighth out of 10 in the best four standings on the day. The best finisher on the day for the Mustangs was Brendon Dobrovolny, who shot an 87 to finish tied for thirteenth.
For Washington County they finished eighth in the two-man standings out of 12, tenth out of 11 in the four-man standings, eighth out of nine in the six-man standings and in the best four scores they finished ninth out of 10. The best finisher on the day for the Tigers was Tyler Singleton who took eighteenth place after shooting an 89 on the day.
The Linn Bulldogs they finished sixth in the two-man standings and saw Zak Voelker as their best finisher on the day, as he shot a 88 good enough to tie him for fifteenth.
