Woman Who Asked to be Stabbed Gets Year in Jail
04/19/2012

An eastern Nebraska woman who allegedly asked a man to stab her last summer so she could avoid going to a probation hearing, was sentenced Wednesday to a year in jail.
Jessalyn Stierwalt, of Beatrice, testified before the Gage County District Court that she was making progress in handling an alcohol problem.
District Judge Paul Korslund said the charge was appropriate, and added Stierwalt’s actions also obstructed the health care system. Stierwalt had to be hospitalized after being stabbed.
The man who stabbed Stierwalt, Scott Roberson-Turman, also received a one-year prison sentence. A second man was also apparently recruited to stab the woman. He’ll be sentenced today (Thursday).
