Highway Resurfacing Projects to Begin in NW Missouri
04/20/2012

The Missouri Department of Transportation is set to begin resurfacing highways in Holt and Atchison Counties beginning next week.  Mo-DOT officials say if weather permits, they plan to begin those projects as early as next week.
In Holt County, sections of Route 159 and Route E will be resurfaced.  The work includes the 3.1-mile section of Route 159 from U.S. Highway 59 to Interstate 29.  Route E will be resurfaced from Mound City to Route 159 just west of I-29, a span of 4.4-miles.
Work on those roads is expected to take five days to complete.
Once work is complete in Holt County, resurfacing will begin on a nearly 10-mile stretch of Missouri Route 111 in Atchison County.  The road will be resurfaced from Route W at Corning to Route E just south of Rock Port.  That project is expected to take one week to complete.
Roads will be narrowed to one lane around all the work zones, and flaggers and pilot cars will be present to direct traffic.
Herzog Contracting is the contractor for all those projects.
