Pre-trial Conference Continued in Jefferson County Attempted Murder Case
04/20/2012

A pre-trial conference that was scheduled for Thursday in the attempted murder case involving a rural Valley Falls man has been continued.
According to Jefferson County Attorney Jason Belveal, the conference is now scheduled for May 10th.

John Hayworth, Jr. pleaded not guilty in March to attempted first degree murder in connection with the December shooting of 58-year-old William Schoonover in rural Valley Falls.
Schoonover later recovered from his injuries.
Belveal says the prosecution is expected to present its case in a jury trial, likely to take place this summer.
