Valley Heights Wins Home Golf Invitational

It was the host school Valley Heights winning their Valley Heights Invitational golf meet on Friday, in a weather shortened meet as the golfers played only nine holes. Six schools field teams while one other school had a few golfers participating.

The Mustangs of Valley Heights took first with a combined team score of 197, featuring the top two individual performances of the day. Washington County took second as a team with a 203 cumulative score, with Republic County finishing in third place with a 220 score. Finishing fourth, fifth and sixth, respectively were Linn, Marysville and Hanover, tallying 228, 231 and 234 team total scores.

Valley Heights team finish was fueled by the top two individual performances, as Alec Doner won first place with a 41 (through nine-holes) and Brenden Dobrovolny taking second with a 44, while also having one other top 10 finisher in Patrick Hale at 10th with a 52. Washington County also finished with three top 10 finishes on the day, as Tyler Singleton and Nathan Doss tied for third each shooting a 45, while their teammate Tyson Hynek, finished eighth with a 49. Fifth place with a 46 went to Marysville Bulldog, Dlyan Claeys, he was followed by two other Bulldogs out of Linn in Zac Voelker and Kyel Kolle. Voelker and Kolle, finished tied for sixth each shooting a 47 on the day. In ninth place it was Republic Counties, Tad Haitt as he shot a 51 on the day.

Vermillion's, Brett Kenworthy and Chris Bargmann of Marysville, both tied Valley Heights' Hale for tenth, each shooting 52 on the course. Austin Jueneman was the highest individual performer for Hanover finishing in thirteenth place.
