Heidi Jordan, head softball coach at Highland Community College, is providing a series of softball clinics designed to enhance the skills of area youth. These clinics will be conducted in the Walters Wellness Center on the Highland campus, and interested participants are encouraged to contact Coach Jordan at 785.442.6070 or hjordan@highlandcc.edu.
The clinics will begin with a Pitching Clinic featuring nationally recognized outstanding pitcher Ivy Renfroe. This Clinic will be broken into two groups: one for beginning and intermediate players on Saturday, January 18, and one for advanced players – those who have game experience and an understanding of throwing pitches – on Sunday, January 19. The beginning and intermediate group has a fee of $50; the advanced group’s fee is $75.
Participants in this Clinic need to bring their own catcher, and a new ball will be provided to each participant. Check in for both groups will be from 9:20-10:00 am each day and will conclude at 3:00 pm. Participants will need to bring their own lunches. There is a registration deadline of January 1 for this Clinic.
A second clinic the next weekend, January 25 and 26 will be a Skills Clinic for ages five and up that will feature defensive skills on Saturday and offensive skills on Sunday. The cost for both days of this Clinic is $50; for one day is $30. Participants will need to bring their own equipment, clean tennis shoes, and lunch. Check in will be from 8:00-9:00 am and will conclude at 3:00 pm. The registration deadline is January 6.
